# Troubleshooting

- `app_unavailable`: start the website build of Framecap; the App Store build has no bridge.
- `permission_required`: grant Screen Recording and restart Framecap. Do not reset TCC.
- Python missing: install Python 3.8+ from a trusted source and put its absolute path in MCP config; the GUI still works without Python.
- Client shows no tools: verify absolute paths, restart/reconnect, then inspect client logs. GUI clients may not inherit shell PATH.
- `file_exists`: choose a new output; use overwrite only when explicitly intended.
- timeout: inspect the output/session before retrying.
- scroll `paused`: restore overlap and sample again; it is not an appended frame.
- wrong coordinates: distinguish display points from source pixels and check Retina scale.
- malformed config or an existing different `framecap` entry: the config tool stops instead of overwriting it.
